In my opinion... V-day is totally over rated. Valentine's shouldn't be the only day of the year that your girl/guy gets special attention.

I think the spontaneous things that are done on completely random days of the year just to show you care are so much better.

Regardless, if you have to do it.. I think the best gift you can give is something that she'll/he'll never forget, and no I'm not talking about material shit like shoes, clothes, teddy bears, etc. etc.. Take your significant other out on a date, something totally new... Something they would never think you'd ever come up with.

My ex took me snorkeling for Valentine's day before. I loved it. I will probably never forget the experience either.

^^ Unless the dude gets Steak & BJ Day in March too.

But basically yeah what Lady SoLoC said. The spontaneous surprises are the best, going both ways. Gifting should really not be about the material aspect of it, but about the experience. One of the best things I ever surprised my ex with was a sunset ferris wheel ride in Santa Monica after visiting the Getty Museum. So simple, but she'd been talking about it for a long time and it turned out perfect.

To keep on topic though, I had good results with Teatro Zinzanni, for what it's worth. I'm all about memorable events.

Haha. I was kidding. ^_^

Any who, I already started receiving Valentine's Day gifts. =] Pretty awesome. The best part about it is that I didn't get roses. I got orchids... which I ♥. I got a bunch of Godiva chocolate and a big white teddy bear. I think it's super sweet cause it caught me off guard. =]
