August Rigo linked up with producer J.R. Rotem to write IYAZ's second single, “Solo” for his album “My Life.”

IYAZ's first single, “Replay,” did very well on the Billboard Top 100, but the question is whether his second single will be just as popular.

“If Solo does the same thing as replay it means a whole lot,” August Rigo says, “From a financial standpoint it obviously will bring in a lot of revenue but also from a credibility standpoint it helps prove that I can write hit songs. If I can write hit songs it means I will have the opportunity to get a lot more work. It will be a snowball effect. God willing this song really take off.”

The single samples the piano melody from Janet Jackson's, “Again.” For the past few weeks, several videos of the song have leaked on Youtube, so take a listen.

straight jacked janet jacksons song,
come on now, create, dont emulate. I cant stand it when JR takes a good classic song and butchers it with nursery school lyrics and no name autotuned artists.

Pffft @ dj sift. Create, don't emulate? You're an effing dj... why don't you "sift" through your playlist and name ONE hip hop song... or house song, depending on what kind of dj you are, that HASN'T used a sample, or a drum pattern, or a melody, or a beat that hasn't ALREADY been used in another song. Better yet, find us all a song that YOU've made from scratch without doing any of the above. Bet any sort of remix you've done, or mixtape you've made, you've taken another person's work and put your own spin on it...or even better, made some lame ass shout outs that we ALL love to hear from dj's when they ruin songs by trying promote themselves. Anyway, the point is that all great artists emulate their predecessors. Before he created his own style, Michael Jackson emulated James Brown when he danced. Countless artists have, and will continue to emulate MJ. How is writing lyrics to a classic melody any worse than what you do? If anything, I find it refreshing that the writer had the taste enough to write to a classic Janet melody. In my eyes it's a tribute to a great artist and her work. This song allows listeners to reminisce about a great song while still enjoying the style of today's music. Keep the hits coming D!

All Im saying is he didnt make the original song any better and the idea of having a legit song butchered by these new school artists with harder basslines and autotune doesnt sit well for me.

Classic example, T-Pain - Change feat diddy,
about as wack of a remix as this.

And yo August called,
he said he wants his dick back.
