It's amazing to see where rap music has evolved to from Biggie dropping this song over a decade ago, to his passing, and to a new generation of rappers of young rappers like D-League paying tribute to him.
"[Beatboxing] It's a metaphysical process of becoming an instrument of music, and a human sound machine."-- Jason Tom shares his thoughts about his favorite element of hip-hop. Check AR's interview with this Hawaiian beatboxer.
Vox Merger premiered their American Pie music video at the San Diego Asian Film Festival on October 24th, and debuted it online the following monday.
The music video was directed by Asian-American director Patricio Ginelsa, whose recent work includes Filipino rapper Bambu's music video "Crooks & Rooks, " which won best music video at the 2009 Chicago International Hip Hop Film Festival. Ginelsa's quality of work rivals that of Todd Angkasuwan, who directed Vox Merger's previous music video "Reasons." (also recognized for directing MV's for Jin and FM)
The music video was shot in Normandie Casino in Gardena, CA and features a cameo appearance by Asian supermodel Francine Dee as one of the card dealers. Francine Dee is familiar in the import scene, and has also modeled in special editions of Playboy.
The scene opens up in a smoky, dark lit room with Akim and Rexx standing back to back awaiting the fate of their judgement, and that is where the 'American Pie' story begins....
Raheem DeVaughns new single ' Bulletproof' Feat. Ludacris, directed by Todd Angkasuwan, was declared MTV Jam of the Week, the week of Oct 26th, 2009. The video was officially released by Raheem DeVaughn on Oct 22nd.
No surprise, though, Todd's no rookie. He has directed and edited videos for Krs-One, Snoop Dogg, and more. It's good to see that his videos are getting exposure.
What are your thoughts on the video/track? Does it deserve to be Jam of the Week?
The Wonder Girls, who are like the Pussycat Dolls of South Korea, will be making their first United States national tour alongside the Jonas Brothers, who they'll be opening for.
This is quite an interesting choice for the Jonas Brothers for a number of reasons.
1. The Wonder Girls are relatively unknown in the United States, even to most Asian American's that don't follow K-Pop 2. If the Wonder Girls are like the Pussycat Dolls of South Korea, they're going to have to tone it down tremendously for a show with, of all people, Disney's Jonas Brothers

Yes, the title is correct: nude photos of Lucy Liu have been released on the internet. It's current unclear where these came from. Apparently, they look like they were taken with some taste in mind, and that she had the full intention of them being circulated. It doesn't look like it was taken from a camera phone, but instead by professional photographers for a magazine like Playboy. So, we have no guilt posting these up. They're class photos, enjoy!

Kanye West recently released an interesting 12-minute short movie directed by Spike Jonze, who did Where the Wild Things Are. Apparently, the video was taken off the internet within 24 hours by Kanye West himself. Luckily, some copies were made so that it was still circulating on other web sites and we got a hold of it.
This video is pretty creative, and the message is clear: making it to the top has it's ups, but it also has it's downs. Grab the popcorn and enjoy the show. Turn off those cell phones please. Before you do, add us on Twitter and stay updated =).
Earlier this week, we posted the photos from the Grace Park photo shoot for Maxim (here's the link). Now, here's some behind-the-scenes video footage of the shoot.
These commercials with funky Asian characters just keep rolling in. This commercial from Skittles pokes fun at a classic video game, Mortal Kombat, and one of its charcacters' finishing moves called a Fatality. In the commercial, the Kung Fu master rips the heart out of the Skittles bag and the tag line shows up, "Don't Shaolin the Rainbow, Taste the Rainbow".
I actually kind of like the term and can hear the high schoolers already. "I'm about to Shaolin his ass!!!"
