It's amazing to see where rap music has evolved to from Biggie dropping this song over a decade ago, to his passing, and to a new generation of rappers of young rappers like D-League paying tribute to him.

Jin tha MC (Ayojin.com) is throwing a contest for aspiring MC's to be on his upcoming mixtape. Here are the details:

Be a part of the 2010 Hiphop Census (For The People By The People) MIXTAPE

1. Pick your favorite instrumental (Let’s keep it HIPHOP!).

2. Record a song leaving a 16 bar verse open. (The song can be about anything. Be creative!)

3. Upload the mp3 to youtube as a video response to my announcement video (below).

4. I will pick my top 5. Viewers (you all) will vote for your top 5.

5. I will add my verse on the 10 selected tracks.

Timeline:

Submission date – Feb. 28th to May 1st (2 months)

Voting will take place from – May 1st to May 14th (2 weeks)

Thai, the Vietnamese rapper best known for his street single "Vietnamese Gang" just signed up with a new label coming out of the Bay Area called 454 Life Entertainment.  The label is quickly signing up a number of artists including Nump Trump, Korean rapper IZ, and Drew Deezy.  Check out the introduction video below, along with the first official release song called "Go Hard".
