AZNRaps - So what's your story man?  From what most people know, you appear to be the new kid on the block, a rookie. But I don ft know any rookies who be dropping some dope tracks with acts like Crooked I and G Unit's Spider Loc!

Camino - Yeah.. I've been under the radar for a minute, I've been rapping and making beats for about 5 years in the studio and what not. What people don't really know about me is I've been involved with rap and hip hop for awhile. I worked as a intern/ air personality in 1995-1996 as a blacklist crew member for TRE BLACK at 92.3 the Beat in Los Angeles, I was a teen back then and didn't understand how important music touches people. I really got serious about rap in 2003 when I met Big Syke through an "imfamous" meeting. And i guess the rest is kind of history.

I've been hesitant to drop music back then because I felt like I wasn't ready to let the world know my story and I felt my bars weren't up to par. But now the training wheels are off and i'm ready to ride in the fast lane.

AZNRaps - You got two songs that you posted online: "FUCK WITH US" with G-Unit's "Spider Loc" and "RIDIN ON DUBZ" with "Crooked I". How'd you get affiliated with them?

Camino - I hooked up with Spider Loc through my close friend "Crash" Miller who manages Spider and who co-owns Baymacc music their label imprint, the Loc and me will always hook up and do some music so its nothing you'll see more material in the future from the both of us. I hooked up with Crooked i through DJ Hideo who hosted Crooked i's first mixtape " Young Boss".

AZNRaps - What is your relationship with these dudes, I mean is it a close one or is it just  get in the booth spit it and bounce h type relationship?

Camino - Like I said you can count on seeing more projects in the future and more collabs with the G-UNIT west camp and Camino in the future, same with Crooked i he's a real down to earth guy who wants to see everyone in the "New West" blow up and get money.

AZNRaps - I don’t want to compare you to other dudes but the way you came out is kind of reminiscent of JimmyBoi.  With him, he came out of the South and was co-signed by a lot of those dudes like Paul Wall and Sean P of the Youngbloodz.  Did you look at his hustle before you came out with your music?

Camino - Not really, but I can say I am proud of Jimmy Boi and his movement he has going on over there in the South!  I respect his hustle and his grind and I wanna see him blow up and get a deal. Holla at me Jimmy Boi Let's get money!

AZNRaps - Despite best efforts, the current state of Asian's making any moves in the rap game is slow right now.  From someone in your current position, what's your take on it situation? Like, what do you see that's wrong, and what can be done to improve it?

Camino - I think its hard for us to get noticed, we have to overcome so much with hate number one . There are stereo types about asians even before we spit any air into the MIC. I don't think we should change anything about our state of music, I think A&R's, Labels, and radio stations  have to change their perceptions of Asians and get over it. I can't speak for any other rappers or MC's but I just think if your dope and you got your own style then people should feel the music and color shouldn't be an issue.

AZNRaps - I know you got a track with Far*East Movement, how'd that come about?  There are two distinct styles here, what made you gravitate towards them?

Camino - HAHA! Man....Kev Nish is the homie first and foremost! I told him over the phone "you guys are going to be blow up like the BEP's" I respect Fm! Yes we have very different styles but at the end of the day it's good music! I think when people listen to the track they'll be like WTF? Big ups to Kev for trying out something new, I know they had to go outside of the box when we did the track.

AZNRaps - Have you talked with any other rappers in the scene?  Were there any collaborations that you tried to get through but it didn ft happen?

Camino - Yeah..Southstar reached out, we collab'n on a joint on my mixtape. Infact look out for his solo project..pick up 2 or 3 copies

AZNRaps - Big question, are you trying to get signed with a major label or you want to handle things independently? What is your ultimate goal?

Camino - That would be the goal, but since the Youtube and Myspace thing hit the scene a few years back the whole Music industry changed 360 degree's. A&R's are looking at your potential fanbase and what you can bring to the table.

The indepedent game is nice because you control your destiny and your failure and success is all in your hands.

All I can say is this...08 is going to be a big year for the Camino camp whether it's on a major or if I have to sell these Cd's on the side of the freeway my damn self!!! But real talk we have the Runningmates situation now which is my boy Network Gil in New Orleans who manages Berg, Carmelo Anthony's artist, and he's got some big things lined up for me in 08.

AZNRaps - So your mixtape is going to be coming out soon, what can we expect from that? How many tracks? Any big names?

Camino - It's my debut mixtape so i put alot of love into this project. I got about 19 tracks on it, half the tracks produced by myself. I got DJ Hideo hosting the tape! Big ups to Hideo! I got tracks with Spider Loc, Crooked i, Big Syke from 2Pac's THUGLIFE crew, FM, and alot of the "New West" cats on it. And I have one big name that i know people will go ape shit over, I won't reveal that name until I release it!

AZNRaps - I heard it's gonna be a free download.  Why'd you decide to go that route as oppose to trying to make a buck off of it?

Camino - Some people have heard of me but the Majority hasn't. I want to give them some free product and get them addicted to my music like a crack fiend and buy my music in the future. I'm going to keep dropping free mixtapes for the 2008 season. You can't turn down free! And you can download the mixtape right here at AZNRAPS.com and other websites that I won't plug here outta respect! haha

AZNRaps - I hope you success man! Big year both a lot of folks! Any last words?

Camino - I wanna wish everyone a blessed 2008!  I want all asian mc's, producers, graff artists etc to get money and blow up! We need to hook up and help one another instead of hating on one another. Look out for my homie Kareless from Longbeach and The Blue Rose from Altadena's the hunned!!!

AZNRaps - One final question: its 2008, what can we expect from Camino this coming year?

Camino - I got a project in the works with Yukmouth a LA to the Bay type concept, I'm fucking with Mizati Wheels...We in talks of doing something real big....I got acting shit in the works thanks to my boy Norman Hopson over at Xpose entertainment in Pasadena. 08 is gonna be good for our camp.
